HASTINGS. In Hartford, April 4, 1972, William E. Hastings, husband of Katherine (Harley) Hastings, of 16 Forest Rd., Windsor. Funeral services today at 2 p. m. in The First Church in Windsor Congregational, with burial in Palisado cemetery.

William Ellsworth Hastings, son of Walter Hastings and Minnie Ellsworth; and Hazel Shirley Whitmore, daughter of Frank Whitmore and Jennette E. Meyers, married 19 November 1927 in Putnam county, New York.

The groom worked as a tobacco grower. The bride worked as a secretary.

Evelyn A. Hartman and Windsor N. Ford acted as witnesses. Herbert Hazzard, "clergyman," presided. It was the first marriage for both.

Hastings of Windsor, November 19, 1927, in Brewster, New York. Reverend Herbert Hazzard performed the ceremony. Miss Evelyn A. Hartman of Wethersfield, and Mr. Edwin Thripp Ford of Windsor, were the attendants.

Daughter of Horace H. Ellsworth and Laura L. Fowler, his wife.
Granddaughter of Amos Fowler and Sarah S. Hayden, his second wife.
Great-granddaughter of Anson B. Hayden and Laura Wilson, his wife.
Great-great-granddaughter of Thomas Hayden and Abigail Parsons, his wife.
Thomas Hayden (1745 - 1817) turned out at the Lexington Alarm, and was Sergeant Major in Colonel Jedediah Huntington's regiment. In 1776, he was commissioned Lieutenant, and, 1777, served at Danbury under Colonel Zebulon Butler. He was born and died in Windsor, Connecticut.
