Orangeburg - Miss Mary Ellen Bowman, 79, died Thursday in an Orangeburg nursing home. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Sunnsyside Cemetery directed by Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. Miss Bowman was born in Orangeburg, a daughter of the late Judge I. W. Bowman and Mrs. Mary Ellen Crum Bowman. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the WSCS and was a retired teacher. Surviving are: two sisters, Mrs. Alma B. Easterlin of Orangeburg and Mrs. Milton Moore of Bennettsville; two brothers, Hammond C. Bowman of Charleston and Reddick A. Bowman of Orangeburg. © The News and Courier, Orangeburg, SC, 8 Sep 1972
