When Evadne Avery Moore was born on January 20, 1921, her father, Carl Radcliffe Moore, was 35, and her mother, Evadne Frances Avery, was 24. She had two brothers Carl Radcliffe Moore Jr and Shelton Crawford Moore. Evadne was trained as a classical pianist. However, she worked as a mathematics teacher at Fremont High School (California) for more than 26 years. Evadne never married. She died from cancer on January 15, 1983, in Oakland, California, at the age of 61.

Evadne Moore was originally trained as a classical pianist at the University of California and Mills College where she received her Master's Degree. After working for Sherman & Clay Music Company for some time she switched to teaching. The National Science Foundation recognized her skill with a grant.
Miss Moore, born in Portland, Oregon grew up in the East Bay and lived and worked almost her entire life. She was only 61 when she died.
She is survived by a brother and five nephews and nieces. Memorial Services will be 2pm January 29, at the Tower Chapel of Mountain View Cemetary, Oakland.
The family asked that any donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Peralta Hospital Cancer Society Institute or the Evadne Moore Scholarship Fund of Fremont High School.
