Actor and Stuntman. Born in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Throughout the 1940s until the 1980s Robert, better known as Bob appeared in films like Belle Starr's Daughter in 1948, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court in 1949, Blackbeard, the Pirate in 1952, The War of the Worlds in 1953, The Big Country in 1958 as one of Charles Bickford's henchman, Spartacus in 1960, The Alamo also in 1960 as one of Davy Crockett's men, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance in 1962, Chisum in 1970, and Silverado in 1985. Bob and Yvonne were married on November 21, 1955. Together they had two boys, Bob also had a daughter from a previous marriage. There are two reports of his accident, one version is he was working in Globe, Arizona, on the set of How the West Was Won, Bob fell under a moving train and lost a leg and suffered other serious injuries. The other version is during the filming of a gunfight that takes place on a moving railroad flatcar loaded with logs, one of the chains that held the logs snapped, and Bob was crushed by the falling timber and lost a leg. Though which version is actual fact is unknown, what is known is that he had serious injuries and he lost a leg and both versions are while he was working as a stuntman on the set of How The West Was Won. Although the accident initially brought the couple closer together, their marriage ended in divorce in 1968. Bob died in Los Angeles California at the age of 82.
