Mrs. King was born and raised at Valhermosa Springs, Morgan County, but has lived in Florence for the past 60 years. She was manager of a photographic store in Florence for 19 years but was self-employed at the time of her retirement in 1981. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Mrs. King and her husband, Howard, celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary Feb. 7, 2011.
Mrs. King was preceded in death by her father, Edgar F. Smith; mother, Irene Nappier Smith; sisters, Nola Porcello and Clyde Evelyn Bonds; and brother, Cecil Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Howard E. King, of Florence, seven devoted nieces and one nephew.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Shoals, or to your favorite charity .
