Famed Scottish-born writer. Born James Leslie Mitchell but wrote under Grassic Gibbon, he was immortilised by his trilogy of works " A Scots Quair". Sunset Song (1932), Cloud Howe (1933) and Grey Granite (1934) make up the trilogy. Gibbon was cremated here on the 11th February 1935, the ashes later being removed.
