Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on December 4, 2011 surrounded by people she loved.

"Katie" was born January 31, 1920 in Salt Lake City to Wilford and Johanna Dworack Boren.

She married Charles Randall Bailey in 1934; he preceded her in death. She married Fred Arthur Mauerman in 1946; he preceded her in death.

Katie was an accomplished artist and enjoyed quilting. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings.

Katie was an energetic and independent woman who loved camping, playing with her kids and grandkids, the outdoors, and somersaults and cartwheels. Her sunny and happy disposition will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Katie is survived by her sons, Alvin Louis (Mary Ellen) Bailey, Henry Forbes (Andrea) Bailey, Fred Arthur (Marilyn) Mauerman Jr., and John Mark (Nancy) Mauerman; twenty-four grandchildren; many great- and great-great- grandchildren; and extended family members. Preceded in death by two sons, Stephen Morris and Charles Randall Jr.; two daughters, Katherine Bailey and Karen Lee Bailey; and many extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville, with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
