Coma Noel Richardson returned to her Lord on Saturday, the 3rd of December 2011, surrounded by her loving children.
Coma was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, on the 13th of June 1922, to Ida and Edward Temple Noel. She graduated from the University of Houston earning her degree in education.
She married the love of her life, Iliff David Richardson in 1945 with whom she had four children to which she devoted all of her love and time.
After they were raised she embarked on her career outside of her home at Southwest Art Magazine and went on to organize the Southwest Art Foundation and the Museum of Art of the American West, retiring in 1991.
Coma was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Houston for over 65 years and a P.E.O., Chapter ED for 59 years.
Coma is preceded in death by Rich, her beloved husband of 56 years; and her parents. She leaves to cherish her memories her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild.
Her southern grace and beauty touched all who had the joy of knowing her. A best friend to many and loved by all, Coma will forever be held in the hearts of her family and friends.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o'clock in the afternoon until seven o'clock in the evening on Friday, the 9th of December, at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
All are invited to gather with the family for an interment service to be conducted at half-past noon on Saturday, the 10th of December, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Avenue in Houston, where Rev. Jon Crantz, Associate Pastor of Spiritual Formation at First Presbyterian Church, is to officiate. A uniformed steward from Geo. H. Lewis & Sons is to be positioned at the cemetery's entrance so as to guide guests to the interment site.
A memorial service is to follow at two o'clock that afternoon in the Sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, 5300 Main Street in Houston.
