Mrs. Mathilda Carriveau died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mitchel St. Peter, 136 Mineau Avenue at 8:45 last Thursday evening of heart failure.

Deceased was born at West Fall, Canada in 1941 where she was married to Joseph Carriveau and in 1867 they came to Oconto and continued to reside here until death claimed them, Mrs. Carriveau having died in 1901.

She had been ailing for the last 15 years and since the death of her husband had lived at the home of her daughter.

She is survived by one son, Adelor and three daughters, Mrs. Mitchel St. Peter, Mrs. Louis Bergeron, and Mrs. Fred Brown. She is also mourned by 34 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The funeral was held from St. Peter's church Monday morning, Rev. Fr. Vanier officiating, and her remains were borne to their last resting place in the Catholic cemetery by six of her grandchildren, Lewis and Victor St. Peter, Joseph and Anthony Bergeron and Fred and Medore Brown. She was a member of the Guard of Honor and the Third Order of St. Francis the members of which in her honor marched in a body from the house to the church.

Friends and relatives from out of the city who were present at the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Carriveau and daughter, Pauline, of Niagara; Mrs. Xavier Collard, Menomonee, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Vernoche, Lena; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carriveau and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Shallow of Little River.
