Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Edna Humphries will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with Brother Clark Palmer officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pollock.

Mrs. Humphries, 83, of Pollock, passed from this life Wednesday, December 07, 2011, at Riverside Hospital of Louisiana, Alexandria.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Pollock, and attended Faith Baptist Church, Tioga. During her working life, she was a cottage parent at Pinecrest Developmental Center, giving her time to care for her residents for 20 years. Family was always the center of her life, especially time spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister, brother and all her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J B Humphries; parents, Tollie and Lois Floyd Edwards; son, John Brooks Humphries, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, James E. "Jimmy" Humphries of Pollock; daughter, Susie Humphries Woodruff of Pollock; brother, Kenneth Edwards of Hooks, Texas; sister, Lois Golmon of Gardner; grandchildren, Tiffany Simpson (B J), Jimmy Wayne Humphries, Brandon Humphries, John Brooks Humphries III, David Humphries (Kathy) and Connie Marie Foster (Michael); 12 great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Jimmy Wayne Humphries, B J Simpson, R T Golmon, Thomas Brady, George Hinds and Zachary Clark Paul.
