Notes for Electra Page:
Page 102 of the June 1864 Fire Lands Pioneer magazine:
"Lexey (Page) married, Jabez F. Ivory, who settled near her fathers. After living with her until the sixth child was born he left for parts unknown. It is supposed he died in Mobile, Ala.--She afterwards married Charles Sweate of Norwalk. In a few years he became infatuated with Millerism, and when last heard from was living with the Shakers near Cleveland. She is now living with her second son in Norwalk; Eratus Ivory."

Lexy Page of Norwalk, Ohio married Jabez Ivory and had six children. Jabez deserted. Lexy married (2) Charles Sweate of Norwalk. Some of the children took the last name Sweate. sivory42@cox.net

DEATH: Death record at Norwalk County, Ohio Courthouse

[A search of the Norwalk Ohio 1840 Census does not show any Sweet family by any spelling. In 1850 Charles Sweet, age 63, lived with a Sweet family of the age to be his son's family at Norwalk. This makes me think the story that Charles left to live with the Shakers was told to cover that two men had been unable to live with Electa.] My g-grandfather was Allen N. Sweat, born in Mississippi about 1859; married Nancy Jane Bryant, born in Mississippi about 1866. My grandfather, Caro/Karo Sweat was their son, born in Tenn.
I was told gowing up that our ancestory was "Ivory", and that a Sweat family adopted one of our ancestors. I do not know first names re the adoption. I have been unable to find ancestors farther back than Allen N. Sweat.
