Two persons were killed and four were injured in six accidents in Preble county over the past Thanksgiving Holiday. Killed instantly at 4:30 p.m. last Wednesday when their car was struck three miles north of New Paris by a Pennsylvania Railroad train were Frank Albert Yount, 58 and his wife, Helen 40 of Fort Jefferson, Ohio. The accident occurred at Beam’s Crossing near New Paris. Dr. G.W. Flory, Preble Coroner, said he doubted either of the victims heard the approaching train as they neared the railroad crossing since both were at least partially deaf. Funeral services for the victims were held last Friday afternoon from the Kessler Funeral Home, New Paris. A second service was held at Winamac, Ind., Saturday afternoon, burial was made at Star City, Ind.
