The son of Geurt and Hattie Ver Stegh Beyer, he was born May 18, 1913, in Lynn Grove Township, Jasper County. He received his education in the Taintor and Searsboro schools.
On Dec. 17, 1941, he was married to Fern Wiley. He farmed all his life in the Searsboro, Grinnell, and Montezuma areas.
Survivors include his wife, Fern, one daughter, Linda Stout; a grandson, Benjamin Stout; two sisters, Margaret Sparks and Helen Willimsen of Newton; and three brothers, Lester of Montezuma, Melvin of Oklahoma, and Earl of Grinnell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dale and Glen.
Funeral services for Mr. Beyer will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home, with burial in the Pleasant Township Cemetery, Ewart.
