Winslow—Alpheus "Al" Allen, 69, former resident of Freeport and Winslow, passed away at 8 o'clock Thursday night in a hospital at Omaha, Nebr., according to a message received here this morning. He submitted to an operation on May 29, for a ruptured appendix. He was born near Martintown, Wis., in August. 1869. He was united in marriage to Miss Clara Van Horn, Dec. 26, 1894.
He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence McCammon, residing at Omaha, and two brothers, William Allen, of Stevens Point, Wis., Charles Allen, of Forreston. His wife, one daughter and three brothers preceded him in death. For some years, Mr. Allen resided at Winslow; then at Freeport, and later at Omaha. Funeral services will be held at the Winslow Methodist church, probably Sunday afternoon with burial in the Cedarville cemetery.
