She was born May 5, 1887, at Cloverdale OH and had been an evangelist for the Assembly of God and the Interdenominational Pentecostal churches for 60 years. She came to Joplin in 1946 from Waynesville. She was married to Maurice Edwards, June 4, 1926.
Surviving are her husband; a son, George I. Oaks of Joplin; two daughters, Mrs. Laura Vanriette of Pittsburg, KS, and Mrs. Nancy Moore of Joplin; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Dorothy Miller of Topeka, KS and Mrs. Phyllis Baker of Nevada; and 25 grandchildren.
