For 26 years, she worked with her husband at their in-home business of Metal Refinishing. She was very talented at lacquering. She later worked in the Deli at Willow Valley for six years.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ida Adams Patton. She was married to Benjamin F. "Cap" Armstrong, who died February 19, 1991.
Surviving is one son, John R. Armstrong of Willow Street; four daughters, Sandra L. Armstrong of Mountville, Bonnie M., married to Kenneth Ray, of Strasburg, Donna M. Doughtrey of Wilkes Barre and Betty J. Armstrong of Holtwood; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Edward Patton of Lancaster.
