B. Frank Armstrong, sixty-three, New Providence R1, died at his home at 2:45 p.m. yesterday following a two month's illness. He was born in Providence Twp., a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John K. Armstrong. A life long resident of the township, he was a veteran of World War I having served 18 months in Europe with the Rainbow Division, 151st Machine Gun Battalion, and was in the Argonne and other engagements. He attended the Millersville State Normal School and had taught school in the Providence Twp. area for about ten years. An active Democrat, he was a Democratic Committeeman for Providence Twp. until recently and was former manager of the Smithville baseball team. Besides his wife, the former Elsie Pollock, surviving are these sons and daughters, Elsie, wife of Lester Kiscaden, Columbia; Benjamin F. Armstrong, Willow Street R1; Norman E. Armstrong, New Providence; Home W. Armstrong, Wilmington, Del.; Ruth, wife of Harry Gorton, New Cumberland; Hugh Armstrong, Willow Street R2; Raymond Armstrong, Lancaster. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and a sister, Maud, wife of Abram Loump, Oyster Point, Lancaster R2. (Intelligencer Journal - July 4, 1958)
