Jane B. Austin, 71, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Dec. 12, 2011 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Kevin Deckard, Associate Pastor of Polk St. United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Jane was born Nov. 29, 1940 in Amarillo to Byron and Sadie Bumpus. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1959. Jane had worked for the City of Amarillo Tax Office and then the Amarillo Board of Realtors. She later worked for a mortgage company and several oil and gas companies in Dallas before moving back to Amarillo. She was a lifetime member of Polk St. United Methodist Church, a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit #260, Daughters of the Nile, Eastern Star Bonita Chapter, and Beta Sigma Phi.

Survivors include her sons, J.B. Austin and wife Lori of Wichita, KS and Boyd Austin and wife Terri of McKinney; a sister, Barbara Russell of Wichita, KS; her longtime friend, Martha Collis and grandson Nathan Austin of the home; and grandchildren, Britny Austin, Kody Austin and Todd Hoffman of McKinney, Jennie Longtine and husband Cordell and Kimberly Schmidt of Wichita, KS and Brian Schmidt and wife Amy of Bellevue, NE; and great-grandchildren Teagan, Hayden, Emily Longtine and Colton Schmidt.

The family suggests memorial donations be to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, 2201 Wellborn, Dallas, TX 75219; Salvation Army, 400 S. Harrison St., Amarillo, TX 79101-1442; or to American Legion Auxiliary Dept. of Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Fund, P.O. Box 140407, Austin, TX 78714-0407.

Visitation will be from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
