LAMKIN FUNERAL TODAY
CALDWELL--Funeral services for John H. Lamkin, 69 years of age, will be held at the residence, 710 Belmont, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mr. Lamkin died at his home Friday morning. He had lived here for the past five years. Surviving him are his widow, one daughter in Colorado, on in California and two sons here. Interment will be made in Canyon Hill cemetery. John H. Lanmkin was born March 29, 1852, at Rising Sun, Indiana, and died January 13, 1922, at his home in Caldwell, Idaho. He was married to Serena C. Sackett, February 4, 1875, at Macon City, Missouri. To this union five children were born, two daughters and three sons. The eldest son, Frank Lamkin, preceded his father in death at Wichita, Kansas, Dec. 12, 1915, leaving a wife and two daughters, Juanita and Mellta Lamkin.
Mr. Lamkin with is family moved to the San Luis Valley, Colorado, in the fall of 1909, buying a farm two miles east of Mosca, where he engaged in farming, his life occupation, which he loved. In August, 1917, they moved to Caldwell, Idaho, to make their home. The following January he was stricken with paralysis, which rendered him helpless and he was confined to his bed until be was called Home. Through the years of his sickness, his constant companion was his faithful wife, who ministered to him day and night. He bore his suffering with the greatest fortitude and was ever patient and gentle. During his long illness he made his peace with God and was ready to go when his Master called.
Those surviving are his wife, two sons, Samuel E. and Chas. L. Lamkin, both of Caldwell, Idaho, and two daughters, Mrs. H. Hearne, Ketchikan, Alasaka (sic), and Mrs. John D. Wehrle, Center Colorado, and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home, 710 Belmont St., Caldwell, Saturday afternoon, January 14, 1922. Interemnt (sic) in the Caldwell cemetery.--Center Colorado Post-Dispatch.
Mr. Lamkin formerly lived in Gray county, not far from Montezuma, and was well known there, and in this county as well.
