The oldest child of Sherman Bromley and Mary Isabel (Andrews) Seely born in Dublin, Ohio. Her brothers Herrick and Elmer are both buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Bristolville, Ohio near their parents. Her sister Ruth (Hatch) is buried in the Champion Center Cemetery in Champion, Ohio. She had two other sisters, Beatrice b.1892 and Mary Madaline b. 1903.

The family relocated from the Jerome, Ohio area to Trumbull County before the 1910 Census.

The Trumbull County marriage record for Maud Maxline Seely shows she married Thomas Robert Johnson from Oklahoma in August of 1913. He is listed as being a real estate agent. They moved to Elk City, Oklahoma where he was from and the home of his parents. They are all buried in the same cemetery in Elk City, Oklahoma. Maud apparently went by Maxlyn from seeing her cemetery stone.
