Alvey H. Jess, 89, of 1520 Lowell died at 6:23 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Medical Center. He was a member of First Christian Church for more than 70 years and was born in Riverton the son of Robert Williamson and Alice Amanda (Agee) Jess. He is survived by five nephews, William B. Jess, Dr. Robert J. Patton, James W., Charles C. and John A. Patton, all of Springfield; two nieces, Mrs. Kathryn Kinahan of Springfield, Mrs. Martha Blyth of Los Angeles, Calif.; several great-nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel with Dr. Beryl S. Kasper officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
