Kenneth James Hoyt, 71, of Springville, died Friday, November 27, 1992 at his home of bone cancer.

He was born September 27, 1921 in Nephi to Earl Sabin and Rose Evelina Christensen Hoyt.

He married Ramona Bendixen; they later divorced.

He married Zelda Crockett; they later divorced.

He married Elda Singleton Brown October 15, 1983 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was an active member of the LDS Church, holding many positions in both stake and ward levels.

He was a High Priest at the time of his death.

Ken graduated from Juab High School in 1941, and attended Snow College and BYU.

In 1942 he joined the Navy and served through World War II on the USS Fanning, the President Monroe and USS Tucker.

He also served seven months during the Korean War.

He was Postmaster in Levan for 21 years, retiring in 1982.

He is survived by his wife, of Springville; five children, Terry, Brigham City; Mark James, Midvale; Dennis and Mrs. Joseph (Rebecca) Christensen, both of West Jordan; Mrs. Rick (Lisa) York, West Valley City; three adopted children, Mark S., Kimberly, and Stacie; three stepsons, Craig Lynn Brown, Portland, Oregon; Edward A. Brown, Highland; Jon D. Brown, Crailsheim, West Germany; 23 grandchildren; a brother, Earl Ballard Hoyt, Orem; aunts and uncles, Vic and Merlene Collard, Nephi; Clyde and Beth Christensen, St. George; Ivy Christensen Bennion and Francis Martin, both Idaho Falls, Idaho; parents-in-law, Elden and Vera Singleton, Springville.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1992, Springville 10th Ward Chapel, 355 East Center, 11 a.m.

Friends may call Tuesday evening, 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery with full military rites by District #4 VFW.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to local VFW.
