Gideon's Mother was Elizabeth Lang Anthony, who is said to have died en-route to Ohio.

Gideon married Mary Ann Wise in Austintown, Trumbull County (now Mahoning), Ohio 25 April 1836. Their children were:
Elizabeth b. 28 Feb 1838, Cenas J b. 1840, Priscilla b. 1844, Charles H b. 15 May 1845, Elias (also identified as Paul E in 1850) b. 1847, Sarah b. 1852, Irene b. 1857 and Homer b. 1861 per 1850, 1860 & 1870 US Census all born Jackson Township Mahoning County, Ohio.
