Fifth child of George and Mary Dixon, brother of Edward (1825-1890). Married Grace Simpson (1812?-1873) in 1838 in England. In 1857 they emigrated to New Zealand on the "Oriental". Sacred to the memory of George DIXON, who died 8 October 1873, aged 56. Respected in life, regretted in death. Also Grace DIXON, relict of the above, who died 22 November 1873, aged 61. A friend to the needy and kind to all. "Thro' suffering, therefore and thro' pain, They lovingly battled thro' life, And may we soon meet them again, when on earth we've finished our strife"
