Sheila Thornton-Koontz age 52, passed away Sunday, December 4th at her home in the Meadow Springs Subdivision. She was born in Monticello, September 15th, 1959 the daughter of Jim and Mary Slagle Thornton both surviving.

On January 15, 1983, she united in marriage with her surviving spouse; Howard Randall Koontz. To this union two sons survive: Zachary Koontz of Owensboro and Jordan and his wife Raven Koontz of Lexington.

Also surviving is her grandson: Ethan Koontz; her sister: Terry Thornton-Frye and her husband Richard and two nieces: Marissa and Bethany Frye.

Sheila was retired from the Kentucky State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. As a young lady she accepted Christ as her Savior at the Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church at the time of her passing.
