Funeral services for Rev. Alfred Jackson Edgar, 77, of 315 East Bernard in Clute, were scheduled for 3 p.m. today at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Sabine County.
Edgar died at his trailer home Tuesday night from natural causes, according to Justice of the Peace Clyne Thomas who held an inquest.
He was a retired Baptist minister, and his first charge was in the Gravel Hill community. He had been a Clute resident for four years.
Survivors include his widow; sons, Fred W. of Clute, Henry of Winnie, and Noel of Anahuac; daughters, Mrs. Lula Weaver of Hampshire, Mrs. Inez Worthy, Beaumont, and Mrs. Everett Smith of Hemphill, 19 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
