DEATH TAKES FRANK ROLFES WAS ONE OF THE PIONEER SETTLERS IN STANTON TOWNSHIP THIS COUNTY

Frank H. Rolfes, a pioneer resident of Plymouth county, died at his home, 215 Fifth avenue, Sunday, following long illness from an internal malady.

Mr. Rolfes was a native of Germany and was born at Oldenburg, November 10, 1852. When a youth of nineteen he came to America and worked in Jaokson county, Iowa. He came to Plymouth county about 1875 and bought land later in Stanton township, where he farmed successfully for many years, returning to Le Mars fourteen years ago. Mr. Rolfes was twice married. In 1876 he married Bernadine Deters, who died seven years later. In 1884 he was united in marriage with Miss Marie Meinen, who survives him. He is also survived by his children, who are Mrs. Jos. Helms, of Worthington, Iowa; John Rolfes, Mrs. Nicholas Peppersack, Mrs. Frank Langel, Joseph Rolfes, Mrs. Leo Langel and Frank Rolfes, all of this vicinity.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock, at St. Joseph Church, Rev. W. A. Pape offictating.

Mr. Rolfes was a member of St. Joseph's society and of the Holy Name league. He was a good citizen, a devoted father and husband, and was highly respected in the community.

Six nephows of the deceased will act as pallbearers.
