Lena R. Bender, 86, of Grantsville RD 2, Md. died Wednesday, April 30, 1986 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born in Grantsville, April 19, 1900, she was a daughter of the late William E. Stanton and Rebecca (VanSickle) Stanton.
She was a retired cafeteria worker. Her last assignments prior to retirement were at the Grantsville and Route 40 elementary schools. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the Ladies Guild of the church.
Surviving are one son, Edgar A. Bender, with whom she resided; one sister, Mrs. Ellen Funk, Washington, Pa.; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where services were conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. William Borch.
Interment, Grantsville Cemetery.
