Glenda Jo (Downey) Hart

Glenda Jo (Downey) Hart, 65, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.

She was born June 22, 1938, in Greensburg. Her parents were Amos and Marry (Collins) Downey. She married Barry M. Hart on Aug. 10, 1958, in Greensburg. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Larry M. Hart and Barry M. Hart II, both of Franklin; three daughters, Kathy Jo Smith of Franklin and Kelly J. Hart and Marry M. Stevenson, both of Trafalgar; two brothers, Paul Downey of Bargersville and Jerry Downey of Greensburg; a sister, Shirley Hamer of Milroy; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Downey.

She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1957.

She was employed by the U.S. Post Office in Franklin as a window clerk for 28½ years, retiring in 1998.

She and her husband entertained and taught as clowns for 10 years. They were known as Happy the Clown and Pappy the Clown.

Guy Langston will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Franklin Church of Christ, 3600 N. Morton St. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home, 951 N. Main St. in Franklin. Burial will be at a private family cemetery.
