OAK HILL - William Jennings Shockey, 87, of Oak Hill, died Sept. 16, 1999, in a Beckley hospital after a short illness. He was a former employee of the State Road Commission and a former auto salesman and had attended Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving: son, Ralph Jennings of Hinton; daughter, Deborah Bibb of Oak Hill; stepdaughter, Clara Crities of Ohio; sisters, Ida Martin of Oak Hill, Savannah Thore of California, Viola Smith of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandcildren; one great-great-grandchild. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Treadway Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, is in charge of arrangements.
