Ethel Freda (Fry) Stoddard was born in Iowa to Samuel M. Fry and Cynthia (possibly Wham, but not verified). Her parents were from Pennsylvania and Ohio, respectively.

It appears the Fry family is around Burlington, Iowa for awhile -- around 1900, according to the census.

Ethel marries John Clifton Stoddard sometime between 1900 and 1908 (but probably closer to 1908 because of her age), and they have three daughters -- Lorraine (b 1908 in Arizona), Eleanor (b 1911 in Florida) and Margaret (b 1912 in Florida).

The family seems to go back and forth between Florida and Arizona, but we're not sure why. Clifton's family is a mining family in Arizona, but he also spends time as a ship captain in Dade County, Florida.

Ethel passed away in 1918 in Arizona due to Pulmonary Tuberculosis, according to the death certificate. On the certificate, it says the disease was contracted in Florida. She was a 27 year old housewife.
