Married John Wesley Wayland in April of 1854, mother of four children, James Wesley, Agnes M, Jacob W., and John Walter Wayland. Family lived outside Edinburgh in Ashley township (old Hamburg District) next to her parents. In 1860 her husband was listed as a "Teacher of Common School."

Anna's father was Jacob Neff Kagey whose parents were Abraham Kagey (1764-1831) and Anna Neff (1772-1828) and whose mother was Barbara Neff, daughter of John Neff (1776-1852) and Elizabeth Glick. Anna's grandmother Anna Neff died in 1828 during the fever epidemic, probably typhus, that struck many families along the North Fork of the Shenandoah River.
