Obituary on funeral home web site: Funeral service for Della Mae Davis Lowman, 89, will be held 3 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2011, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel in Irmo. Mrs. Lowman, wife of the late Jacob Lowman, died March 29, 2011. Born June 22, 1921, in Aiken County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Texas Williamson Davis. She had retired as a nurse after 40 years with Dr. Harold L. Hennies. For many years she was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Circle 5 and the Christian Homemakers Sunday School Class. At age 80 she became the television personality for Pistol Creek Western Wear. Surviving are her son, David Jacob Lowman; daughter, Jane Lowman Long (Jim); sister, Ellen Davis Richardson, all of Columbia; sister-in-law, Elaine O. Davis of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Esther Brock; son, Jacob Perry Lowman Jr.; sisters, Rosanell D. Poole, Thelma D. Lucas, Dorothy D. Livingston; brothers, Henry, Jeff and Rudolph Davis. Memorials may be made to St Paul's Lutheran Church, 1715 Bull St., Columbia, SC 29201.
