Scottish Nobility. He was the son of a British officer in the army of His Majesty and Peer of England. After completing his education at Harrow School in Westminster and Pembroke College in Cambridge, he pursued a political career by becoming a Conservative Party (1783-1789) and chief advisor to the Prime Minister. John James Hamilton, although already a cadet descendant of an aristocrat, in 1790 was created Marquis of Abercorn and awarded The Noble Order of the Garter by King George III.
