Marie E. Anhalt, 88, of New Blaine died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, in Fort Smith.

She was the wife of the late of George J. Anhalt. She was an active member of St. Scholastica Church, Shoal Creek, a Eucharistic minister and former president of the Catholic Women's Union and St. Anne's Society. She volunteered at Subiaco Abby and in the caring and sharing program at St. Augustine Church in Dardenelle.

Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at St. Scholastica Catholic Church, Shoal Creek. Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at St. Scholastica Catholic Church with burial at St. Scholastica Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.

She is survived by a daughter, Alice Schluterman of Paris; two sons, Leo and Martine Anhalt of Fort Smith; a sister, Rose Koch of Paris; three brothers, Joe Fritsche of Scranton, Ben Frietsche(cq) of Fort Smith, and George Fritsche of Booneville; and 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Denise Bradley, Jackie Driggers, Gina Swaffer, Scott Schluterman, Debbie Hillman, Becca Borden, Laura Linares, Ashley Anhalt, Angie Harvell and Jason Anhalt.
