Gladys Irene Ring Cannoy, 77, of Wytheville died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011. Funeral service was held Sunday, Aug. 7, at 2 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Kevin Fiorini and Jason McNeese officiating. Interment was in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. She was born Aug. 20, 1933, in Wythe County, daughter of the late Henry Thomas and Josephine Safewright Ring. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Richard Cannoy; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law; 10 grandchildren; a brother; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
