He was born on Oct. 6, 1939 in Brenham and was raised in the Smithville area.
He is survived by wife Roberta; children, Mike of Highland, Amy of Sun City and Debbie of Maple Valley; and seven grandchildren.
A celebration of his life was held Thursday, July 15 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Highland, Calif.
