Valerie Y. Carpenter, 65, of 657 S. Second St., Highspire, died Saturday at home.
She was retired as bakery manager for Super Thrift, York; and was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, Columbia.
Surviving are a son, James S. Devoid of Harrisburg; a daughter, Marguerite Y. Geesey, with whom she lived; a brother, James W. Cale of Taylorsville, N.C.; a stepbrother, Frank Hasson of Washington, D.C; a sister, Mary McGee of Occoquan, Va.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxon Twp.
Viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
