Shannon Tijuana Thompson was born on January 4, 1990, to H. L. Thompson, Sr., and Dorothy Howard Thompson at the University Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

A TIME TO GROW
Shannon began her education at the age of three at Riven Oak Headstart Center. She also attended Ida Greene Elementary School, O. M. McNair, and Humphreys County Junior High School. Shannon a 2008 graduate of Humphreys County High School of Belzoni, MS; was a member of the Humphreys County School Beta Club and the Humphreys County High School choir. Shannon attended Upward Bound at Mississippi Valley State University from 2004-2008. In August of 2008, she enrolled at Mississippi Valley State University majoring in Social Services. During her first semester at Mississippi Valley State University, she earned a 3.90 grade point average.

A TIME TO FIND
Shannon confessed a hope in Christ at the age of twelve was baptized and joined the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. L. Cedric Reed.

A TIME TO PLANT
As a faithful member of Mount Carmel, Shannon held the following offices: Sunday School secretary, president of the Junior Choir, and secretary of the Senior Choir.

A TIME TO DIE

The final chapter in the life of Shannon Tijuana Thompson was written in Greenwood Leflore Hospital, Greenwood, MS; on Sunday, February 8, 2009, at 11:30 p.m.

A TIME TO MOURN
Precious memories of Shannon will live forever through her dedicated parents, H. L. and Dorothy Thompson; her loving brother and sister, Shenitta and H. L., Jr.; her paternal grandmother, Leebertha Thompson; maternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Leonard, and Dorothy Goodall. Others who share the precious memories are two great aunts, Mae Betty Hayes of Belzoni, MS; and Hortense Moore of Jackson, MS; 11 aunts; 2 uncles; 2 special friends, Daniel Smart and Kesha Jones, a godson, Tyrese Sawyer, a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

And God shall wipe all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
