Obituary: Scott Douglas Ellison; Emma Rose Ellison; Seth Thomas Ellison

Published: Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 11:55 a.m. MDT Deseret News

Our wonderful son, brother, father, husband, and uncle has left us along with his two beautiful children, Emma and Seth.

Scott was born on Lincoln's birthday, February 12, 1960. He grew as tall as Lincoln and had his build. He married Esther Yun on March 7, 1999, whom he loved very dearly. Scott loved people and always enjoyed a good conversation. He loved to push Seth and Emma around the block and chat with the neighbors. He had a good intellect, and a gift with words. He was a creative writer, and a good photographer. He loved the ocean, and spent many happy hours there with his family. He was sensitive. He loved children and could talk and play on their level. They knew he was their friend. He was proud of Emma and Seth, and loved to take them for walks in the park, and to the library.

He graduated from Hillcrest High and attended Dixie College and the University of Utah. He fulfilled a mission to Columbus, Ohio, and was a Sunday School teacher, and in the Elders' presidency. Emma and Seth, his beautiful children, were born January 25, 2000 and March 10, 2001. Emma was such a unique little girl, and Seth always had a pleasant smile for everyone. They will be greatly missed!

Scott's brothers were his best friends, and he always had some good philosophical advice to offer. Our close family has empty chairs that cannot be filled.

They are survived by wife and mom, Esther Ellison; parents and grandparents, Joyce and Lynn Ellison; sister and aunt, Sue Hoskins; brother in law, Russ Hoskins; brothers and uncles, Roger Ellison, Rob and Nancy Ellison, Jerry Ellison, Steve Ellison; nieces, nephews and cousins, Jason, Kevin, Robyn Hoskins, Tanner and Chase Ellison, and Lisa Tanner.

Memorial Services will be held at the Second Ward, 704 S. 500 E. SLC at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2001. Interment SLC Cemetery directly following services. Funeral Directors, Garner Funeral Home.
