Esther M. Stange, 89 of Vassar, died early Monday morning, January 17, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. She was born on April 7, 1915 in Denmark Township, daughter of the late John L. and Matilda (Schmidt) Hecht. She married Ernest A. Stange on May 7, 1939 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville were she was a life long member. Esther was also involved with the Choir, Mary Martha Guild and the O.W.L.S. She had helped her husband farm for many years and had enjoyed, reading, gardening both vegetables and flowers, and her greatest enjoyment, spending time with her family. Surviving in addition to her husband of 65 years are her children and their spouses, Ronald E. and Margery Stange of Vassar, Carol E. and John Schreiner, Dennis H. and Jeannette Stange all of Frankenmuth; grandchildren, Steven and James Stange, Kathy Dropeski, Mark Schreiner, Diane Streich, Patricia Hambaum, Heather Biermann, Jennifer Rosado, Lisa Foiles; 11 great grandchildren, sisters, Hilda Bierlein, Gladys Bierlein both of Reese and a sister-in-law, Esther Leinberger of Bay City. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a brother, Wilmer Hecht.


-Funeral Service-
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 20th, from St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville. Rev. Wes Gillaspie and Rev. Rob Gadeken will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

-Visitation-
Esther's family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street, Reese on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
