Later she married the late Frank Ross Wynn. They lived in Winter Park. She was an early founding member of Winter Park Presbyterian Church and remained active throughout her life. She served as an Elder and participated in many of their outreach programs. Fran was a dedicated volunteer. She volunteered with the PTA, as well as the Citrus Council of Girl Scouts as her children were growing up. Later she volunteered with the Orlando Science Center in its early days. She became their Tour Director and conducted an adventurous travel program that included both national and international itineraries. She loved gardening, so her association with Leu Gardens was particularly rewarding. They showed their appreciation by recognizing her as a Volunteer of the Year. She remained active with Leu Gardens until her death. She also enjoyed her membership in the Bonsai Society. All of her family and friends will miss this remarkable and energetic woman who set an example for each of us to stay involved and most of all to live young. Fran is survived by her sister, Madge Slaughter Vaughan of Orlando and four children, Susan Wynn Pratt of Merritt Island, Tom Wynn of Orlando, Marcie Wynn of Orlando, and Richard Wynn of Orlando and their spouses. She is also survived by five grandchildren as well as three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Winter Park Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, September 27 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to Leu Gardens in her memory.
