Mrs. Mary Etta Alexander passed away at her home in Patton, McLennan county, near Valley Mills, Sunday morning after an illness of several years.

Mrs. Alexander was born at Black's Cross Roads, Rutherford County, TN.

She married J.J. Alexander 4 May 1875, and moved to Coryell County in 1902. At an early age she joined the Missionary Baptist Church at Osage.

They moved to McLennan County and lived near Valley Mills the remainder of her life.

To this union were born 17 children, 9 of whom are still living. They are: Mrs. L.D. Shrader, Mrs. G.W. Cole, Mrs. Claude Jaynes, Mrs. Carl Simpson, Mrs. Bertha Alsup, T.J. Alexander all of Valley Mills, & A.G. Alexander of Crawford.

Survived by sister, Mrs. W.T. Ward of Osage & 2 brothers, T.J. Alford of Gatesville & Willie Alford of Coryell City.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 1:00 by Rev. Charlie Cluck, pastor. Interment was made at Osage Cemetery.
