Annie Irene (Cochran) Shotwell was born November 14, 1920, and passed away July 8, 2016. A child of poor sharecroppers in rural southern Oklahoma, she was a graduate of Atoka High School, class of 1940, where she starred on the girl's basketball team. She made her way from the farm to waitressing at diners, and finally to the assembly line at Texas Instruments (later Raytheon), where she worked building satellites and space probes until her retirement in 1984. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Marion A. Shotwell; parents, A.A. Cochran and Mary New Cochran of Atoka, OK; brothers, A.A. Cochran Jr., Charles Cochran, Lee Herman Cochran; and sister, Almadell Cochran Killion. Continuing the family are her children, Lola Marie Ham Marmon of Garland, TX, Linda Joyce Ham Adamson and husband Lane Adamson of Garland, TX, and William Shotwell of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Marisa Dollar, Kevy Rae Booker, Brian Booker, Jasmine Adamson, Randy Marmon, Bradley Shotwell, and Brandon Shotwell; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Beulah Cochran Hopson and Clara Cochran White Ross, both of Atoka, OK; a host of nieces and nephews; and family friend, Michael Peterson, who cared for her and kept her going this past year. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Grove Hill Funeral Home, and will be followed by Graveside Funeral Services at 11:00 A.M. at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
