Milton Dale Ivie Milton Dale Ivie, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, at the Orchard Park Care Center in Orem. He was born January 11, 1923, in Salina, Utah, a son of Milton Oran and Elna Fern Curtis Ivie.
He married Shirley Mae James, September 21, 1944, in Provo, Utah. Shirley passed away July 13, 1991.

Milton served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, during the service. He attended college in Hawaii. Milton assisted the U.S. government in the operation of the M.A.R.S. Network during the Vietnam Era. He continued to be a H.A.M. radio operator for many years. He retired from Geneva Steel, after 37 years, where he worked as a Master Electrician. In the early years of television, he pioneered and developed early television transponders for several counties in Utah and Colorado. Milton had a passion for creating and fixing things; he especially enjoyed woodworking, mechanics, building model airplanes. He owned and operated a TV and radio repair and hobby shop. Milton made many family video tapes and was an avid rock hound.

Survivors include his four sons and two daughters: Rodney (Glenda) Ivie, of Saratoga Springs; Susan (Nick) Gonzales, of Orem, Utah; James (Janice) Ivie, of Orem; Jean (David) Hard, of Rocklin, California; Dwayne (Peggy) Ivie, of Orem; and Kieth Ivie, of Provo, Utah. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; two sisters and one brother: Nide (Ernie) Hohrein, of Provo, Utah; LaVern (Eldon) Walker, of Pleasant Grove, Utah; and Virgil Ivie, of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley; his brother, Jean Ivie; sister, Leona Ivie; and a great grandson, Kasey Rymer.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at Noon, in the Cascade Chapel at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State St, Orem. Interment is in the Orem City Cemetery, with Military Rites provided by the American Legion Post #72.
