Ezra was one of the first settlers of Weare, N.H.

Signed the Association Test of New Hampshire June 1776
(to sign it was a bold and hazardous step: had the cause failed every signer would have subjected himself "to the pains and penalties of treason;" to a cruel and ignominious death).

Served in the militia, Ezra was a trumpeter in the Revolutionary army and served for 7 years.
