His wife, the mother of this sketch, who has now attained the extreme age of 82, is the only surviving child of Henry Camden, one of the pioneers of West Virginia. Senator Camden, whose fame is national, is her nephew. Mrs. Newlon, despite her age, retains a vivid memory of the early history of Sutton, and many of the facts embraced in this article on the town were obtained from her courtesy. She is noe the only survivor of Sutton's 1836 population.

Eliza Newloon was born December 25, 1817 in Maryland and died February 27, 1901. Whe was the widow of William Newlon, who died in Nov. of 1882. Daughter of Henry and Mary B. (Sprigg) Camden. (She was the last of a family of ten children whose names are given in the obit but not included here). Mother of 9 children, 6 of whom are living.Leaves sons W. P., C. K., and Camden Newlon. Daughters Mrs. W. L. J. Corley, Mrs. A. W. Corley, and Lydia Kowalski. Son N. B. Newlon, and daughters Mary Link and Jennie Newlon predecease her.
