Dr. Ralph T. Armstrong
Dr. Ralph T. Armstrong, 55, Sutton dentist, was found dead in his office, Thursday afternoon of last week. He had been ill for the past week and had only been at the office a short time. His death was the result of heart failure.
He was born in Sutton, July 25, 1886, the son of C. Armstrong and Elizabeth Troxell Armstrong. He attended local schools, the West Virginia University and completed his dental course at Cincinnatti, O. Before opening an office at Sutton, he practiced his profession at Gassaway and Webster Springs.
On June 12, 1915, he was married to Ida Cool, of Webster Springs. He is survived by his wife, his mother and five daughters: Mrs. John Carroll and Mrs. Louise Robinson, of Charleston, Jessie, Harriet and Blair, at home. Two sisters, Miss Mary Armstrong and Mrs. Pat Murphy, of Charleston, and three brothers, W. L. Armstrong, and G. B. Armstrong, of Sutton, and A. P. Armstrong, of Gassaway, also survive.
Funeral services were conducted at the home on Main street, Saturday at 2 p.m., with Rev. Kelley Smith, Baptist minister, officiating. Interment was in the Sutton cemetery.
