MUNCIE--Bitha Joan Trowbridge, 74, of Muncie, died Sunday evening at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born in DeSoto, the daughter of William Burnell and Thelma Katherine Gentry Sheller and graduated from DeSoto High School.
Mrs. Trowbridge was co-owner and operator of Trowbridge Lawnmower Sales and Service for 35 years with her husband, Warren E. Trowbridge, until his death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by a brother and her parents.
Mrs. Trowbridge was a member of American Legion Post 19 Auxiliary, Amvets Post 12 Auxiliary, Women of the Moose Chapter 712, VFW Post 651 and Union Chapel United Methodist Church, and also a former member of Selma American Legion Post 437 Auxiliary.
Surviving are three daughters, Rebecca Sue Greene (husband: Claude), Teresa Ann Brown (husband: Michael), and Diana Kay Lear (husband: Richard); eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be in The Meeks Mortuary Chapel at 3 p.m. on Thursday with Pastor Glenn Greiner officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in DeSoto. Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday or an hour before services on Thursday.
