Clifford D. Pickens
Clifford D. PICKENS, 79, of Lucerne, died Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Woodbridge Health Campus,
Logansport. Cliff was born Aug. 12, 1929, in Kewanna to Frank E. and Blanche M. (Morris) Pickens. He was married May 4, 1951, in Young America, Ind., to Georgiann Riemenschneider, who survives.
A retired farmer, Cliff also drove a school bus for 51 years. Cliff was a 1949 graduate of Metea High School, a member of the Metea Baptist Church, past worthy patron of the Fulton Order of the Eastern Star, past worshipfull master of the Fulton Masonic Lodge No. 665, and past president of the third wheel patrol for the Shrine Club in Logansport. He was a member of the Logansport Shrine Club, 32 degree Scottish rite member of South Bend and Indianapolis Murat Shrine, and a current member of the Rochester Moose Lodge No. 1107. Cliff enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Georgiann Pickens, Lucerne; his son, Monte Pickens and wife Corinne, Rochester; his daughter, Pam Grable and husband Denny, Springboro, Ohio, his brother, Ralph Pickens and wife Ondah, Lucerne; sister Esther Books, Rochester; his grandson Brian Grable and wife Kelly, Salem, Mass.; two granddaughters, Jill Topich and husband Jim, Mason, Ohio, and Lindsey Dunithan and husband Matt, Bellville, Ill.; stepgranddaughter, Britt Fansler, Greenwood; great-grandchildren, James
Topich and Jodie Topich, Mason, Ohio, and Ava Grable, Salem, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Smith, Mabel Burrous, Edna Annis, and Opal Pickens; five brothers, Herman, Raymond, Frank Jr., Robert and Clyde Pickens; one son, Ronald Pickens; one great-granddaughter, Jacqueline Topich; and his stepmother, Hazel Pickens.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Metea Baptist Church, Lucerne, with Pastor Bill Cordes and Pastor Bob Cree officiating. Burial will be at Metea Cemetery, Metea. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Gundrum Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church. There will also be Masonic services and a Shrine service.
Memorials may be made to Shiners Hospitals for Children.
